Privacy Policy for CourtMode
Effective date: 2026-10-09
CourtMode ("the App") is developed and published by Dominik Schmitt, trading as Domtelier ("we", "us", or "our").
Pre-launch
CourtMode is currently in active development and has not yet been published to the App Store or Google Play. This policy describes the data practices of the current, pre-launch version and will be reviewed again before any public or store launch.
This Privacy Policy explains what data the App processes, how that data is used, and what choices you have.
Summary
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- CourtMode requires an account (email and password) to create and manage practice sessions.
- CourtMode uses Supabase for account authentication and data storage, and sends selected drill/session content to Google Gemini or OpenAI for AI-assisted practice planning.
- No in-app purchases or payment processing are currently implemented.
1. Account and authentication data
CourtMode uses Supabase Auth for coach accounts. Account data may include your name, email address, authentication user ID, and session tokens. Coaches can invite other coaches to a team by email; invited coaches' email addresses are processed to deliver and manage the invitation.
2. Team, session, and drill data
CourtMode stores data you create to plan and run basketball practices, including:
- team names, age groups, player counts, strengths/weaknesses, and coaching notes
- practice sessions, scheduled dates, and session items (drills, durations, order, coach rationale)
- drill content including titles, descriptions, setup instructions, execution steps, coaching points, equipment, and tactical whiteboard data you create or generate
Team and session data in the current version does not require you to store individual players' names or personal data — fields are structured around team-level counts and notes.
3. AI-assisted features
CourtMode includes an AI session planner and drill tools that send selected text (your training focus, drill descriptions, or YouTube video metadata) to Google Gemini or OpenAI to generate a structured practice plan, a drill summary, or a tactical whiteboard animation.
For the video-based drill extraction feature, CourtMode reads public metadata (title, description, thumbnail) from a YouTube URL you provide via YouTube's public oEmbed service — it does not download or process the video file itself — and sends that metadata to the AI provider to draft a structured drill.
AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing generated session plans and drills before using them.
Data We Do Not Collect
- precise location
- payment card details (no payment processing is currently implemented)
- health or biometric data
- advertising identifiers
Third-Party Services
- Supabase — authentication, database storage, and row-level security for account, team, session, and drill data.
- Google (Gemini) and OpenAI — AI processing for session planning, drill extraction, and whiteboard generation.
- YouTube (Google) — public oEmbed metadata lookups when you provide a YouTube drill video URL.
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Data Retention and Deletion
Account, team, session, and drill data is retained in Supabase until you delete it or request account deletion. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email courtmode.support@gmail.com — we will verify the request and delete or anonymize account-linked data where legally and technically possible, except where retention is required for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
Security
CourtMode uses Supabase authentication, database access controls (row-level security), and HTTPS/TLS transport for network requests. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us at courtmode.support@gmail.com.
Children's Privacy
CourtMode is a coaching tool intended for use by adult coaches and is not directed to children. Team records are structured around aggregate counts rather than individual player data, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including before any public or App Store/Google Play launch. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
